How to assemble your new bike

Assembly required for your new bike

The bike will be delivered in a box, as example below:

When you unpack it, assembly is required. Typical assembly will be (but is not limited to):

  • Insertion of the seat and post to the frame
  • Insertion of the handlebars to the frame/fork
  • Attachment of the pedals to the crank
  • Mounting of the front wheel to the fork
  • Minor adjustment of the brakes and gears

Standard tools are required for assembly, and generally include an adjustable wrench, hex wrench, pliers, and a screwdriver. A socket set, is also recommended – this will definitely be required for bikes with bolt-on pedal cranks (the most common type) as crank nuts will need checking, and re-tightening after initial use. Please refer to the instruction manual for full list of tools required for assembly.

Assembly may take 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the type of bicycle.
