| Assembly required for your new bike |
| The bike will be delivered in a box, as example below: |
| When you unpack it, assembly is required. Typical assembly will be (but is not limited to): |
Insertion of the seat and post to the frame |
Insertion of the handlebars to the frame/fork |
Attachment of the pedals to the crank |
Mounting of the front wheel to the fork |
Minor adjustment of the brakes and gears |
| Standard tools are required for assembly, and generally include an adjustable wrench, hex wrench, pliers, and a screwdriver. A socket set, is also recommended – this will definitely be required for bikes with bolt-on pedal cranks (the most common type) as crank nuts will need checking, and re-tightening after initial use. Please refer to the instruction manual for full list of tools required for assembly. |
| Assembly may take 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the type of bicycle. |
| The instructions given with the cycle will not however, form a “step by step” assembly guide. So a full competence of cycle assembly is required. If you are not confident that you can assemble the bicycle to a level that it will be safe to use, from the point of building, and for it’s future maintenance, then buying a cycle in this way, may not be for you? |
